The four great Doctors of The Church from left to right are: St. Augustine, St. Gregory the Great, St. Jerome, and St. Ambrose. Out of the 37 doctors of The Church, these four saintly men are most notable in their writings and contributions to the western Church. To name a few, we have City of God (St. Augustine), accredited creator of Gregorian chant music (St. Gregory the Great), the first translation of the Greek and Hebrew Bible texts into the Latin vulgate (St. Jerome), and 'De Officiis Ministrorum' On the Duties of the Clergy (St. Ambrose)
